Kesselman Eye Care is an independent optometry practice dedicated to providing exceptional eye care in a friendly and welcoming environment. While we are located within larger stores and we work with them to provide you with the best care possible, being independent allows us to focus on you rather than on sales. We offer a range of optometric services from routine exams and contact lens fittings to medical office visits. We love to meet new people from all walks of life and we take care of patients at almost any age, from children to seniors. We accept a wide range of vision plans, however they vary by location. For those without vision plans, we try to keep our fees fair and competitive. If you are due for an eye exam and are not sure where to go, we would love for you to give us a try!

Dr. Joseph Kesselman, O.D.

Dr. Kesselman was born and raised in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area. After high school, he attended the University of Central Florida where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and Microbiology in 2010.

Dr. Kesselman continued his higher education and graduated in 2014 as a doctor of optometry (O.D.) after undergoing a rigorous four-year optometric education program at the University of the Incarnate Word’s Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio, Texas. In-house clinic at school provided experience with vision therapy, pediatrics, and contact lenses, as well as exposure to ocular disease, especially complications with diabetes.

As a part of his education, Dr. Kesselman worked as an extern at a Veteran’s Administration outpatient clinic and in a private Opthalmology practice where he expanded his knowledge and experience with the diagnosis and management of ocular disease.

In order to practice, Dr. Kesselman underwent all three parts of the national board examinations and currently holds a license to practice in the state of Florida.

In 2016, Dr. Kesselman decided to undergo the ambitious project of opening a brand new luxury optometry practice in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida and maintained that store until soon after the COVID pandemic. He now runs his practice out of larger optical stores like Walmart Vision Center, Lenscrafters, and JCP Optical, where he can focus on patient care.
